IT Business Analyst (Airline Core Systems & Payment Orchestration)

Job Summary & Core Mission

We are seeking a highly motivated and multi-talented IT Business Analyst to bridge the gap between complex airline operations and our core technical platforms. Reporting directly to the Head of IT, your primary mandate will be to drive and support the integration, rollout, and operational continuity of our Payment Orchestration Platform (POP). You will transform high-level business ideas and human requirements into razor-sharp, actionable technical specifications (APIs, schemas, and processing diagrams). 

 

In addition to payment orchestration, you will act as the technical anchor for core airline systems (PSS, OBE, DCS, and CRM) and collaborate with diverse airline divisions to guarantee that their internal IT environments function flawlessly. You will also partner with our Information Security Manager to strictly fulfill EASA Part-IS framework requirements, ensuring data resilience and high systems availability.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Payment Orchestration Platform (POP) Support & Integration (Primary Focus): Own the business logic, workflow mapping, and day-to-day support of the POP infrastructure. Collaborate directly with payment providers, card schemes, and financial acquirers. Manage tokenization architectures, Levels 2/3 data processing enhancements, and token ID tracking grids for automated backend bank settlements reconciliation loops.
  • Core Systems Integration & Requirement Gathering: Gather complex business requirements from commercial stakeholders and translate 'human language' into strict technical data blocks (APIs, structures, and mappings). Drive end-to-end interface alignments across the Passenger Service System (PSS), Online Booking Engine (OBE), Departure Control System (DCS), and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) ecosystems.
  • Cross-Departmental IT Operations & Coordination: Act as the dedicated IT point of contact and coordination link for internal operational divisions, including Flight Operations (Flight Ops), Maintenance, Finance, Crew Training, Commercial, and Human Resources (HR). Ensure the flawless availability, data syncing, and performance optimization of their localized mission-critical IT software infrastructure.
  • Aviation Compliance & Cyber Security Alignment: Serve as the technical anchor for systems compliance. Work alongside the Information Security Manager to implement, monitor, and audit system compliance vectors mandated under the regulatory EASA Part-IS (Information Security) framework rules to secure active operational airline workflows.

  • Database & Infrastructure Administration: Perform basic administrative hands-on duties for Microsoft SQL Server instances, execute database query optimizations, maintain systemic automated backup lifecycles, and monitor enterprise cloud/on-premise storage nodes to guarantee maximum data resilience.

     

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 3+ years of experience as an IT Business Analyst, preferably within the aviation, travel tech, e-commerce, or high-transaction fintech sectors.
  • Proven core competency in payment processing logic, card-vault tokenization, checkout gateways, and accounting reconciliation records processing.
  • Solid understanding of airline technology stacks (PSS data, flight segmentation structures, DCS terminal workflows, or OBE frontends, flight ops systems).
  • Outstanding capability to decompose ambiguous human requests into clean technical specifications, API payload definitions, and logic trees.
  • Direct exposure or basic familiarity with aviation security/regulatory standards, specifically EASA Part-IS requirements.
  • Practical, hands-on experience in basic MS SQL Server administration, SQL data queries creation, system backup processes management, and storage infrastructure oversight.
  • Fluent in English with exceptional technical documentation and communication capabilities.
