Head of Procurement
About the role
FLYYO is looking for a Director of Procurement to build and lead the procurement function required for the company’s transition to scheduled ULCC operations.
This role will manage major operational tenders, supplier contracts, vendor performance, and procurement automation. The main focus will be on handler, fuel, IT/comms, MRO support, training, and other operational supplier contracts.
The role reports to the CFO, with dotted-line accountability to the COO for operational tenders.
What you will do
You will build a procurement function that supports cost discipline, operational performance, and the new ULCC operating model.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the handler tender process, one of FLYYO’s most important operational contracts.
- Run fuel, IT/comms, MRO, deicing, equipment, and training supplier tenders.
- Build performance-weighted tender processes, not price-only selection.
- Negotiate contracts, SLAs, rate cards, penalties, rewards, and service levels.
- Work closely with Operations to ensure supplier contracts support turnaround, airport services, passenger services, DCS/check-in flows, and station procedures.
- Build structured supplier data, rate cards, contract repositories, and approval flows.
- Support automated invoice reconciliation between supplier services, rate cards, and invoices.
- Monitor supplier performance through scorecards, business reviews, and escalation processes.
- Manage supplier risk, KYC, insurance, compliance, and audit requirements.
- Support network planning with supplier availability, cost, and operational constraints.
What we are looking for
- Minimum 7 years of experience in aviation procurement or operational supply chain.
- At least 3 years in a management role.
- Experience running handler tenders and fuel tenders at airline scale.
- Strong understanding of IATA SGHA, Schedule A/B clauses, handler economics, and operational supplier contracts.
- Experience in LCC or ULCC procurement.
- Ability to build performance-based SLAs that are realistic, enforceable, and measurable.
- Comfortable with procurement technology, supplier portals, contract data, and automated invoice reconciliation.
- Strong negotiation and commercial drafting skills.
- Fluent English.
Nice to have
- Experience setting up procurement for a scheduled airline launch.
- Experience on both airline and handler side.
- CIPS, MBA, or similar qualification.
- Experience across Eastern Europe, Middle East, or Mediterranean leisure routes.
